3 Higher Ed Accessibility Professional Organizations

  1. Access Technology Higher Education Network (ATHEN)
    ATHEN is a professional association and network for Access Technology in Higher Education. The purpose of ATHEN is to collect and disseminate best practices in access technology in the higher education environment as well as present a collective voice for the professional practice of access technology in higher education.


  2. EDUCAUSE IT Accessibility Community Group
    The IT Accessibility Community Group will help the EDUCAUSE community to assess the scope of issues of IT accessibility, identify resources and initiatives, develop best practices on policy and assistive program and service development, and in general focus on how to approach campus-wide universal access to information available via technology by engaging in dialogue across boundaries within and beyond the campus environment.


  3. BigTen Academic Alliance: Information Technology Accessibility Group
    The work of the IT Accessibility Group is an integral part of the overarching goal of providing sustained quality and performance to member institutions' instructional, research, creative, and outreach and engagement programs and efforts.
